The week that my 200 point American Lit project was arriving faster and faster each day and of course I had waited till the last possible minute to do it. For this project, I had to look for pieces of literature and art by American authors and poets that were related to success. The class was supposed to find a piece of literature every Sunday night and write a one page response on it until eventually there were a total of 15 pieces.
Every week when Sunday came around I dreaded even thinking about it till late at night. I started to get in the habit of just getting the responses done for completion and not effort. This strategy I would soon come to regret when it was time to turn in the final project.
It was Monday night and the whole project was due Thursday, but sense I was leaving for spring break early I had to turn it in on Wednesday. That night was the second longest night I have ever had. I went in and edited all of my responses and even redid some but I was only about 40% of the way completed. The next day, Tuesday, I came home right after school and started working it and ended up working on it for the rest of the night until morning.
What I learned from experience is to try my best the first time so I won't regret it later in life. I think this was a good lesson for me and taught me also not to wait until the last minute to do something. Have you ever waited till the last minute to do a big project or assignment. Do you have any advice for me with new projects I will get in the future.
